This is a good book which explored many of the technical aspects of diving, as well as giving a good explanation of the development of deep-diving techniques and under-water filming. Cousteau describes his experiences very well, with some beautiful and lyrical descriptions of /5. Cousteau’s narrative is excellent, and the information is accurate.

The photos in the book are interesting as well. This is the book which loosely inspired the movie “The Silent World” by JY Cousteau and Louis Malle, which won an Oscar.
